A bit of colour for a dreary day

It's cold and a bit miserable. Today I'll be mainly doing things in our house and trying to keep warm. I'm doing a little admin on my photo archives and I'm coming across plenty of memories of warmer days :) Here's just one to cheer you up on this dreary day..

What do you do to keep warm and high spirited on wet weather days? I'm about to stick the kettle on.

Much love, R.x

Personal: Habibi Restaurant

I spent a few of my childhood years in the Middle East and went back in my gap year. There's something about the memory of smell and taste which is so much stronger than other things. My favourite food has always been stuffed courgettes and stuffed vine leaves, which always led to some funny looks when you're seven and another kid asks you about your favourite food!

I've visited Habibi a few times and loved it every time. It is an oasis in a city, which if I'm honest, doesn't have the eatery options I'd like! Last night, Steve and I went there with friends of ours and we had a lovely evening of reclining by the fire, catching up and eating dish after dish of the most incredible food you could imagine. This place really is magical.

If that face looks familiar, it's because it's Jo, whose wedding I shot last September. I'm so glad that our paths crossed as they're such a lovely pair and good friends :)

In other news, we're going to see Romeo and Juliet in Arabic in Stratford on Monday - I think it'll be an experience worth having!

Much Love, R. x

Fran and Jamie: Warwickshire Engagement

Fran emailed me a short while after these two got engaged and right from the start I knew I was in for a treat! Fran and Jamie are just so easy to get on with - I know their wedding will be filled with fun!

Enjoy part 1 of their engagement shoot - for part 2 we're seeking a more urban landscape - I can't wait!

I'm off to Habibi Restaurant this evening with two good friends. Can't wait! x

Preview: Fran and Jamie's Engagement

Fran and Jamie live a couple of streets away from us so we spent a while joking about the epic journey from theirs to ours when we met up to talk about their wedding!

The weather forecast promised heavy rain and we went ahead anyway. I'm glad we did because we got lovely sunshine! Fran and Jamie are such fun to hang out with, I had a blast! Here's just a little preview of their shoot this evening :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Helen and Tim: Sellyoak Wedding

Helen and Tim got married at St. Mary's, Sellyoak last December and it was a wonderful day! These two are just so lovely and their wedding was such a joyful celebration. The weather wasn't kind to us but Helen and Tim jetted off to their honeymoon in Mexico, where I'm sure they got their fair share of sunshine!

Here's a selection of my favourites from their day:

Helen and Tim's first dance was one of my favourites to photograph, and their disco was amazing! When the dancing starts, I always feel like I never want to leave!

There will be plenty on the blog in the next few days - weather permitting I'll be shooting two engagement sessions this weekend and I'm nearly finished with Matt and Miriam's wedding pictures. I love it when life gets busier again!

Much love, R.x
